Pray for a miracle

I have always been screwing up my test marks, which eventually leads to my poor MSG. Usually my Maths is no problem because it is school maths, Science, IS and LEP is not consistent, it usually depends on the teacher and the chapter being covered. But languages, i.e. LA, Chinese and Malay always pull up my MSG, damn sad.
Some of my friends is the direct opposite of me, they are good in languages and bad in logic-related subjects. But this is also bad because Maths and Science will pull up the MSG, and some sad guys even failed both of them, so it also not wise to be only good in languages, just because they need not study.
Surprisingly, this time I did not really screwed up my results as badly as the terms before. This is good omen, maybe because I played too much PS2 at home in Malaysia, so this is a good excuse to tell my mom. I still have a history paper and the literature paper have not been given out. In order to get A1 in Humanities, I must get a 22/25 in history; and for English, I need a nice 23/25 for my Emily of Emerald Hill paper, there is a possibility as my LA teacher said we did quite well this time, so I must be optimistic. =)
If my hope really come true, I will most probably get MSG 1.5, almost 3 times better than last year term 3, which is 4.38, so I only have to pray hard for this to happen. This will be the best record if it is really true, and I really hope this will happen.

Rush hour for ACE points

I just realised that the Head of Study postponed the dateline of ACE, so I decided to not slack, even though I need only 6 ACE points to pass the criteria to be safe in IP (those who did better than me in Projectsday please do not insult me, thanks very much). =)
Now I am doing LA ACE, which is the posting of blogs. This is my second post today, but we need to have 12 blog posts, so until now I think I only have six posts if my LA teacher doesn't accept the long post, so please teacher, can you accept my long post with 500+ words (topic: Holiday: more but not enough)? Although I will also do one more extra post just in case, but please teacher.
Next, I posted a half-done Maths ACE to my friend, so he will complete the rest of the powerpoint, thanks to him, I know have time to do blog. XD
I am also looking for a person to do Chinese ACE with me, in case I cannot reach 6 ACE points. Although this week is a slack week, I have no choice but to rush for ACE in order to play safe. This week is IDS week for us, but sabbaticals week for other non-sec2 students. IDS is also part of ACE, so if I get 5 ACE points, I need only 1 more ACE. But why take the risk? Play safe, all I have now is time, although it is always passing every second.
So that's all, I have some other ACE to do, hope I can get 20 ACE even though it is extra (just for fun XD).

Most epic day

Today is a very boring day. I did not do anything fun this morning, all I did was playing Facebook games and Prototype, a highly violent game not suitable for children under 14. XD
Then, I looked for a sec1 to go makan angin with me, it was very nice of him to sacrifice his time going out with me, even though he has shortage of money, know I start to regret telling him to accompany me. Nonetheless, we went to Bukit Timah Plaza to eat as boarding school food is really going to make me vomit.
After that, when we came back, I slept for an hour and then went to swimming straight away. They were always the same person accompanying me, the sec1 I mentioned, and two canoeing guys; one is learning how to swim free style, one is even faster than me. They learn very fast, in a few weeks, they are able to swim 50m without stopping.
I swam for 1050m, which is my highest record. Then, we went to play basketball until 7:30pm. We played with the JC boys, they are skillful and tough, unlike me, accuracy sucks like some drunken man throwing the ball. We played for a match, and then I retired and practised myself. What's the point of losing all the time where you can't even improve your basketball skills? So, we played for one and a half hour and rush all the way to study time.
And, this is it, I don't know what other things can happen later, too boring to think. Hope they are something nice, because tomorrow is not a school day, so it is a good start for tomorrow. =)

One after another

Today is the last day of the week, many tests had past but there are more to come. But today is a projects day final judging, and our group was one of the last ones to present. It is totally a new experience; although it is the same class, there are no audience except for other groups which are waiting for their turn. This gave me more freedom in my speech and I was not as nervous as the previous semi-finals judging, where students are all staring at us.
This year my group's projects day result is far better than last year, where we did not even get through semi-finals. This time, we did maths, which I actually thought of doing it last year. But my cluster mentor said that I should not do because other teams are far better than us as they are either very experienced or has a very strong foundation in maths. Even though our maths may not be as good as some of the maths guys in the maths category, but what we did was simple and easy, it is the folding of paper strips to form different polygons, and this helped us get through semi-finals.
During our judging, we were very nervous as we were not certain if Dr Ang, one of the very cruel judges in the maths category, would judge us or not. The group before us was judged by him, but he switched with another teacher when it was our, this actually greatly boosted our morale and I think we did present well during the presentation. The judges asked us about how we got our ideas, and we said that it was just a Eureka! Groups after us also did very well, especially the last group, their presentation was very unique, group members asked each other questions to clear the doubts in the judges' mind, it was obvious that they made great preparations.
Anyway, I really hope we can get to grand finals even though the other teams did really well.

Holiday, please come back

I miss the holidays that we had in Term 3, they are comparatively long and this allows us to do more things. But the worst part of holiday is that there will always be test coming after the holidays, and this destroys my mood towards the holiday. That is why I hate test, as it destroys my mood and sometimes gives me bad mood when I get poor grades in the tests.
There are also much homework given out before holiday as holiday homework, and I have to complete them before I play. This almost wasted half of my holiday and it leaves me only another half of the holiday playing. So, being a smart guy, I will always play to the most extreme until I have no regrets in not playing enough.
I missed holiday is because of the amount of tests and their difficulty, especially bio and geog. Both bio and geog are very boring lessons and I always fall asleep as I seat at the corner of the class, giving me a lesser chance to get caught. Now, I am starting to study bio and geog, but both are self-study subjects for me, and it is quite difficult to recap what the teachers had thought us. Well, the only way is to ask for some smarty to teach me.
Holiday can be used for everything; it can be used to study and catch up, eat better food, download games and applications, but most importantly is that you must play real hard. Therefore, having a long holiday is a very good thing as we are able to do a lot of things, no matter if it is beneficial or not, it is still good to us in some aspects.

Busy Wk 7 & Wk 8

Week 7 and week 8 is very different from the other weeks in the term, they are much busier than I thought. I have been slacking for the past 6 weeks as there are only a few tests to motivate me to become a mugger. Besides, I did not do any ACE for this term, just hoping that some competition will give me some ACE.
Geography and biology lessons are the two most boring lessons, but yet they are my greatest challenges. I found the geog mock test really difficult and also I find the terms in bio are flooding my brain as there are really a lot of chapters covered in the coming test; and I just realised that bio test is on next Monday and geog test is on next Tuesday.
Even though week 7 is almost over, where Literature, History, Chinese and Malay test are over, I still have projects day finals judging, which is just tomorrow! I cannot believe that we have completed our PowerPoint on our topic and we are going to present it tomorrow. The good thing is that there are no audience but only the judges, this lessens my nervousness and I will less likely have stage fright and this allows me to perform some "skills" successfully towards the judges, unlike during the semi-finals judging, where I failed to perform the "skill". I also have to be very familiar with my script as reading the slides thoroughly will make us fail.
I hope that the finals judging will be successfully smooth and the best is that we are able to enter grand finals, even though the chances are very slim as they will choose the best group in the category only.

Holiday: more but not enough

This holiday is quite long, in comparison to normal weekends, but it is still not enough for me as there are only four days of holiday and if I go back to Malaysia, I would have wasted almost one day of my precious holiday. So holiday life in boarding school is really boring, even though I have to study for my tests in these two coming weeks, those time which I do not use to study is really like no-life. Inviting friends to go out for a long swim would be quite a nice idea to use my time, but besides that I find nothing which is fun, maybe computer game, depends on what games.
Some of my roommates went back to Malaysia, some say that because they cannot study in the boarding school so they went back to study, while the others go back for fun. I am hoping to find out their comments about their time management, and that is because I can never study well in Malaysia. All the televisions and the PS2 took over my intention to study, so it always fake when I put a stack of books on the table where there is a "huge" television and a "gigantic" PS2 in front of me.
My parents came to visit me yesterday. We stayed in a hotel and did nothing for 2 hours until we go out for dinner. Then I found out that I am quite unique compared to the other teenagers in Singapore. I never see a teenager going out with his or her parents to have dinner, I only see a bunch of them in fast food restaurants. This shows the difference between teenagers in Singapore and those in Malaysia. In Malaysia, families are always "united", I rarely find teenagers going out unless they are already 17 plus.
On the 6th of August, there is a National Day Celebration. My school also celebrate, and some elderly came to our school to watch our performances. Surprisingly, some can even speak Cantonese, and they say they are from Kuala Lumpur, children got a scholarship and lived in Singapore, brought their parents along and then put them in those houses for the elderly. After those performances, they were brought to a class, where they play some non-teenager games and had their lunch there. But we went off halfway because we still have bio lesson. There is one thing that I think is very important for us teenagers to learn, those elderly are very caring towards each other, and they are also very considerate. But we are the direct opposite of them, we try to harm each other to get advantage and better opportunities, I think it is not a very meaningful way of doing things, probably because those elderly know that they are old and that their time is going to come, but why can't we learn from them, do the things that the elderly do before it is too late.
At last, I hope that there will be an even longer holiday so that we can do more things and that I am also looking forward to go back Malaysia to complete my Warriors Orochi game in PS2.
